DCSL e-Connect

Privacy policy

Effective date: 10 September 2026 · Applies to the website, web apps and mobile apps, including beta versions.

DCSL e-Connect helps organisations manage board meetings, documents and collaboration. This policy explains the information involved, why it is used, who can receive it, and how to make a privacy or deletion request.

1. Who handles your information

This policy covers the DCSL e-Connect service. The mobile apps are published by Startup Builder Ltd. References to the service team mean the people authorised to operate, maintain and support DCSL e-Connect.

If you use an organisation's workspace, that organisation decides who is invited, the business information added, its authorised recipients and the records it needs to retain. It is responsible for its use of that information. The service team processes workspace information to provide the service and support the organisation. Your organisation may give you a separate employee, director or participant privacy notice.

You can contact the DCSL e-Connect team at support@dcsleconnect.com.ng. We can help identify the organisation responsible for your workspace and route a request to the appropriate team.

2. Information we process

Please only upload information you are authorised to share. Avoid including unrelated sensitive information in documents, recordings or support reports.

3. How information is used

Information is used to authenticate users, manage invitations and access, deliver meetings and collaboration features, store and retrieve workspace content, send service notifications, answer enquiries, resolve bugs, prevent unauthorised access and maintain reliable operation. Poll and evaluation visibility depends on the campaign settings; review the stated anonymity and result-sharing information before responding.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to provide the requested service or meet a contract, support legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, comply with legal obligations, or act on consent where required. Your organisation is responsible for identifying the basis for its own use of workspace information. A device permission is a technical control and does not by itself determine every legal basis for processing.

The app does not serve third-party advertisements. Meeting content is not used by DCSL e-Connect to target advertising, and DCSL e-Connect does not sell users' personal information.

4. Who receives information

Information is available to your organisation's authorised administrators and to participants or recipients permitted by the workspace, meeting or sharing settings. Authorised service administrators may access information as needed to operate the service, investigate issues or respond to support requests. Recipients may retain copies of content you share or download.

Service providers process information needed for their functions. These include:

Providers' processing also depends on the service configuration and their applicable terms and privacy notices. We may disclose information where legally required, to protect users and the service, or to advisers or a successor involved in a lawful business transfer, subject to appropriate protections.

5. Security, storage and international processing

The service uses encrypted network connections, authenticated access and role or workspace checks. Files are accessed through authorised requests, including time-limited download links. Protect your sign-in details and any files you export. No online service can promise absolute security.

The production application backend uses AWS infrastructure in the United Kingdom. Conferencing, notifications, website delivery, support and other providers may process information in additional countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply to the relevant processing. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your organisation.

The app and web apps store session information and preferences on your device or browser, such as the selected organisation and appearance. The website may load third-party resources with their own cookies or similar technologies. You can manage site storage and permissions in your browser; blocking them may affect some features.

6. How long information is retained

Retention depends on the purpose and type of information. Account information is retained while needed to provide and administer access. Workspace documents, meeting records and recordings are retained according to the organisation's instructions and its applicable business or legal record-keeping requirements. Operational and support records are retained as needed for troubleshooting, security, dispute handling and legal obligations.

Removing access, signing out, uninstalling the app or hiding a record does not necessarily erase stored data. Deletion may require a separate request. Information that must be retained for a legitimate legal or security reason may be restricted rather than immediately erased. Backup copies may persist until the applicable backup retention cycle ends. Ask us for the retention arrangements relevant to your account or a particular record.

7. Your choices and rights

You control whether to enable your microphone or camera during a call and can change camera, microphone, photo and notification permissions in device settings. Fresh joins in the current mobile release start with the microphone muted and camera off. Declining an optional permission affects the corresponding feature. Ask the meeting organiser about recording before sharing content.

Depending on the law that applies, you may be entitled to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Withdrawing consent does not undo prior lawful processing. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority.

Send requests to the contact below or your organisation's administrator. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity and locate the account. Where your organisation controls the relevant data, we will coordinate with it. We respond in accordance with applicable requirements and explain any reason a request cannot be fully fulfilled.

8. Request account or data deletion

You can request deletion without reinstalling or signing in to the app. Email support@dcsleconnect.com.ng with the subject “DCSL e-Connect account or data deletion”. Include the email associated with your account, your organisation's name and whether you want your account and associated personal data deleted or only specified information. Never send your password.

We will verify and route the request, identify the account and data concerned, and arrange deletion of information that is eligible for deletion. Company-owned meeting and governance records may need to be retained by your organisation, and records required for legal, security or dispute purposes may also remain. We will explain applicable exceptions. Account deactivation alone is not a request for permanent deletion.

9. Children and changes to this policy

DCSL e-Connect is designed for organisational board and business collaboration, not for children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without appropriate authorisation, contact us so we can investigate.

We may update this policy as the service or its data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required.

10. Contact

For privacy, support, access or deletion enquiries, contact the DCSL e-Connect support team at support@dcsleconnect.com.ng. Please describe your request and the relevant organisation. Do not include passwords or unnecessary confidential meeting material.
